How to Participate

The BDCP and supporting environmental review process is open to public participation. If you are interested in receiving more information, or would like to schedule a meeting, please fill out the online comment form.

BDCP Public Involvement
The BDCP has a three-tiered approach to public participation.  In advance of the development of the draft conservation strategy,
the public is encouraged to participate in Steering Committee, Technical Team and Working Group meetings and to submit comments in writing (which are posted on the web site for public review). BDCP staff is also actively engaged in making presentations and providing briefings to interested organizations.

With the availability of the plan's preliminary draft conservation strategy in Summer 2009, the BDCP hosted community workshops in the Delta to solicit feedback about its contents in September 2009.  Outreach to stakeholders and communities will continue as other elements of a preliminary draft conservation plan are developed throughout the remainder of 2010.

BDCP anticipates a Public Review Draft of the plan in 2010, on which public meetings will be held.  The Public Review Draft of the plan will also include a public review and comment period, as established by state and federal law, typically lasting 90 days.

EIR/EIS Public Involvement
In addition to participating in the BDCP planning process, there are several opportunities for public input as a part of the environmental review process, including scoping meetings and public meetings associated with both the Draft and Final EIR/EIS. In addition, EIR/EIS team members are available for briefings to local entities and elected officials regarding the environmental review process.
