Lead Agencies in the Environmental Review Process
The ecosystem restoration and water conveyance alternatives identified by the BDCP will be evaluated through a formal Environmental Impact Report (EIR)/Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process. Lead agencies for the EIR/EIS are the California Department of Water Resources, the Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service, in cooperation with the California Department of Fish and Game, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
