Public Meetings

Public meetings are currently held every 4-6 weeks. Progress of the working groups and other updates will be reported at these meetings and be subject to open public discussion. These meetings will be open to participation by all interest groups and members of the public.

Upcoming Public Meetings

February 29, 2012 - A public meeting is scheduled for February 29 from 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. at the Pagoda Building, City View Room, 429 J Street (corner of 5th and J Streets), Sacramento, CA. Parking is available at the City of Sacramento Downtown Plaza parking facilities. View the map.

Meeting topics include an update and discussion of the Effects Analysis and BDCP documents, an update on the environmental review process and proposed tunnel conveyance, and a panel discussion on the BDCP relationship to other Delta programs. For those unable to attend in person, the meeting will be available via conference call at 1-888-369-1427, access code 8278112.

March 28, 2012 - A public meeting is planned for the afternoon of March 28 at the Pagoda Building, 429 J Street, Sacramento. Meeting details will be available soon.

December 14, 2011 - A public meeting was held on Wednesday, December 14 to discuss the new BDCP document review process, provide an update on the Effects Analysis, and share updates on issues currently being discussed in the working groups. November 16, 2011 - A BDCP Public meeting was held on Wednesday, November 16. The meeting included an update on the BDCP planning process and ongoing topics, as well as a roundtable discussion focusing on how demand management for water from the Delta interacts with BDCP. September 27, 2011 - A public meeting was held on September 27 to provide updates on the BDCP and issues being addressed by active working groups, and facilitate discussion on outstanding BDCP issues, including conveyance facilities. April 25, 2011 - Natural Resources Secretary, John Laird, and Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior, David J. Hayes, gathered with stakeholders and the public to discuss the challenges and process for meeting the BDCP's dual goals of ecosystem restoration and water supply reliability, and their commitment to completing a habitat conservation plan for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta that achieves these goals.

Natural Resources Deputy Secretary, Dr. Jerry Meral, provided an update on the BDCP since the November 18, 2010 Working Draft of the BDCP, the process for resolution of key features of the draft plan, and important environmental analysis needed before a final BDCP may be approved.
